Congrats 2019 Tom Hom Scholarship Recipients

We were honored to support this year's Asian Pacific American Coalition (APAC) 2019 Gala this past weekend! Bill Ostrem (3Roots Principal) presented the 2019 Tom Hom Civic Engagement Scholarship to two local students. Congratulations to Lily Ilima Madsen and Cameron Tran.

As the first Asian-American City Councilmember in San Diego, Tom Hom is known for his commitment to building a brighter San Diego and honoring his Chinese heritage. This year’s scholarship recipients reflect Tom’s legacy through their own commitment to their community.

The Tom Hom Civic Engagement Scholarship is awarded to two students of Asian or Pacific Islander descent who are enrolled in college and who have demonstrated volunteerism, work, or other activity related to civic engagement.
